About the Event

How do we take care of ourselves after seeing or experiencing trauma during interpreting? 

Or during teaching/advocating for a Deaf child in public school? courthouse? hospitals? and other traumatic situations?


We do need to increase our need for self-care after experiencing working/witnessing traumatic situations in our profession (if we’re in hospitals, courthouses, or advocating for a child deprived of language.) Interpreters, itinerant teachers for the Deaf, and advocates of the Deaf community see language deprivation in Deaf students everyday.
